The defending champions are still looking for a backup point guard. Even as they are off to a good start, the Cleveland Cavaliers are seemingly not yet confident about their roster giving them the NBA 2K17 crown. Who are on the shopping list of the Cavs?
Does The Cavs Think Their Backup Point Guard Is Not Reliable?
After Mo Williams has departed from the team upon his retirement before the Cavs went on training camp, the team has been continuously looking out for his replacement. They have tried a number of players to take up the role such as Jordan McRae and Iman Shumpert. The team has also given Kay Felder and DeAndre Liggins time to prove they can play the role.
Who Would The Cavs Likely Take And Trade?
A report from the Ohio Northeast Media Group says that the Cavs will likely go for an upgrade by means of a trade instead of looking at the free agent market. If it is through a trade, it won't be until Dec. 15, 2017, when the offseason signings will be eligible. Vardon also said that the Cavs targets will likely be D.J. Augustin or Derron Williams. The Cavs could offer Shumpert in exchange since he has been mentioned in NBA trade rumors that he is on the way out.
Are John Wall And Anthony Davis Also Being Traded?
Meanwhile, star guard John Wall of the Washington Wizards is still on the cross hair of NBA trade rumors. Giving him company on the trading block is Anthony Davis. Wall is rumored to be on his way to the Miami Heat in a deal that involves Tyler Johnson and Goran Drajic. A veteran center of the New Orleans, Anthony Davis could also land in Boston, the team which is rumored to be the most in need of his talents and skills.
