"Orange is the New Black" season 5 is definitely confirmed despite recent rumors about the show's supposed cancellation. Though, the show runners a bit quiet and barely leaks out anything about the show's development, it looks like the series has already started filming in Hudson Valley.
Fans will definitely be excited to know that "Orange is the New Black" is set to air soon. After ending in a major cliffhanger in its final episode last season, many are eager to know what Daya (Dascha Polanco) will do. She was last seen pointing a gun towards Officer Humphrey.
Recent reports speculate that she will eventually pull the trigger and will lead to her leaving the show. While other reports speculate that Officer Bennett will likely return to rescue Daya from the consequences of what she did to Correctional Officer Humphrey.
Another news that recently surfaced about "Orange is the New Black" is that Laura Prepon who plays as Alex Vause is rumored to return for the upcoming season. This has already been confirmed by Prepon herself, however, she will be returning to the show as a director.
In a recent twitter post, she shared a photo of herself with lead star Taylor Schilling who plays as Piper Chapman. She captioned it, "Directing my beautiful co-stars. What a gift and it's not even Xmas." While it was already confirmed that she is directing an "Orange is the New Black" season 5 episode, she did not mention which particular episode it will be.
Meanwhile, another report has confirmed that the series has already started filming. "Orange is the New Black" which films at the Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center in Orangeburg has to be have started filming since November 17.
The said location is where the stars shoot their scenes as a stand-in for the fictional prison Litchfield Penitentiary. However, no further details were mentioned about the said filming.
"Orange is the New Black" is slated to air by June or July 2017.
