Pokemon Sun Guide: How to Get Alolan Vulpix And Ninetails Ice Pokemon

Vulpix and Ninetails are one of the Pokemon that’s only available in 'Pokemon Sun' just like Sandshrew is in 'Pokemon Moon'. Many of us may already be familiar with Vulpix and the fact that it evolves to Ninetails. However, in 'Pokemon Sun', Vulpix Pokemon are no longer from the Fire clan but actually an Ice Pokemon which explains the switch of color from brown to pure white. So this guide will make it much easier for you to find a Vulpix and get it to Ninetails as early as possible in the game.

Getting Vulpix in 'Pokemon Sun'

The nest of Vulpix is found on Mount Lanakila in Ula’ula Island which is just north of Route 14. And you can’t really access the place until you are cleared from the first trial. So you would have to head back to Ula’ula Island to explore the new route. When access is already given, just ride the elevator up to the top and start searching for Vulpix in the tall grass. This area is a very common place for Vulpix to pop up so it only takes some minutes to find one and catch it.

Evolving to Ninetails

Once you get your very own Vulpix, you will need to improve your relationship with it to be able to evolve it to Ninetails in 'Pokemon Sun'. So you will need to do some traveling or walking with it by your side. Make sure it never faints when on a battle so its happiness doesn’t decline. Don’t forget to pet and feed it from time to time. When the relationship bar is full, you are now ready to evolve it to Ninetails. All you need to do is use an Ice Stone with it and your Vulpix will finally evolve into pure Ice and Fairy type Ninetails Pokemon.

Evolving Vulpix to Ninetails will also allow you to make it learn new moves like Dazzling Gleam. With a new and powerful Pokemon in the game, you are now ready to take down big bosses in 'Pokemon Sun'.
