The secret to unlocking all trainer pictures including special trainer marks is by increasing your training relationship with your master. Basically you can get 1 mark (picture) every 33% of your relationship (mentor bar) meter with your trainer. Also, since you can basically get all trainers to train you, you can essentially get all trainer pictures by simply increasing your mentor bar on all of them.
Cool tip: Once you max out your mentor bar on a specific trainer, you will be rewarded with the third mark that will contain golden design around it. And once you get two golden cards on two different specific trainers (max out mentor bar), you'll get another special card from the both of them. For example: If you max out Vegetta and Goku's mentor bars, you will also get a special mark that will contain an image for the both of them. Note that these special cards are for specific trainers only and the only way to unlock all special cards is to max out all mentor bars on all trainers in the game.
