It looks like Credence will be the center of “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 2” joined by Newt, Jacob and the Goldstein sisters. Just recently, Producer David Heyman has confirmed Credence is still alive and revealed that audience would have seen him riding a boat with Newt heading out of New York but decided to cut the scene.
Moreover, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" director and producer said that J.K. Rowling “found a story that she really wanted to tell, passionately, which centers on Credence ultimately” which removes all speculation who will be the center of the movie’s sequel.
And in analyzing Credence’s character, the director’s hint only means Credence has already chosen a side and it’s not the dark side. Moreover, if the “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 2” will center on Credence, it also means he will be accompanied by Newt most of the time. This makes a lot of sense because they were together when they left New York so they should still be together as he goes back to his home country.
In the last scenes of “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 2”, Newt also promised Porpentina he will be back to give her a copy of his book. Since Credence considers her a good friend, it's highly possible he will accompany Newt back in New York for a vacation. It’s also an opportunity for Newt to catch up with his friend, Jacob. What’s supposed to be a time off in New York could also be just in time when Grindelwald has come up with a new plan in terrorizing the No-majs in the city.
Other characters expected to be introduced in the sequel includes Dumbledore and Leta Lestrange. David Yates confirms this scoop and describes Lestrange as a very complicated character in “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 2”. “She's quite complicated and damaged and confused and Newt is absolutely still in love with her, so she has a kind of power over him, and she, yeah, she's a kind of tragic figure, so we will see a bit more of her in the second movie.”
