Producer David Heyman confirms Credence is still alive and could be one of the main players in the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” sequel. He also reveals a scene from the ending was actually cut that proves Credence is alive, who he’s siding with and where he plans to go next. He explains that they had a good reason why they had to cut a portion of the ending.
In the last scenes of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, it can be remembered that Newt noticed a small portion of Credence’ elemental being flies up in the air as if he has survived the powerful strike against him. And it looks like he did as Heyman confirms in an interview that “We actually had a scene, which we cut, which was Credence going to a boat, to get on a boat somewhere else. But we cut that, because we didn't want to have it be such an, 'Ahhh, here we go.”
When he was asked to elaborate what the scene was like, he teases that it could be Credence getting on a boat with the author of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” and creature lover, Newt, or maybe alone, he could be “heading off out of New York.”
Unfortunately, Newt may not be the center of the movie’s sequel although assures the fans that this isn’t the last time fans will see him, Tina, Queenie and even Jacob. The good news is, Dumbledore is confirmed to join the movie but in a much younger version. As mentioned in the book, it will be Dumbledore who will put a top to Grindelwald’s evil deeds, played by Johnny Depp, at the expense of the life of his sister. Ironically, it is actually Voldermort who kills Grindelwald in the future as he desires to own the Elder Wand.
