Microsoft Solitaire Can Be Played On Your Smartphone, Android or iOS

Microsoft is bringing its popular gamer version of Solitaire to smartphones working on iOS and Android. This announcement is made today. While the game as existed on Windows for more than 25 years, the modern Solitaire Collection will now be available outside of Windows for the first time. Microsoft is offering its Solitaire Collection on iOS and Android free of charge. The company hopes to gain more players to add to the 119 million who have played the game on both Windows 8 and Windows 10.

Microsoft Solitaire Can Be Played On Your Smartphone, Android or iOS

"Microsoft Solitaire continues to be one of the most-played games of all time on Windows for more than 25 years. What's more, the version of Solitaire you know and love on Windows 10 and Windows 8 PC and mobile devices, Microsoft Solitaire Collection, has reached more than 119 million unique players in the last four years alone! And now, those on iPhone, iPad and Android devices can play the popular card game for free", says Paul Jensen, Studio Manager of Microsoft Casual Games.

No one knows yet exactly when the game is coming, but for sure it will come because Microsoft sent out an email to its Microsoft Casual Games Inner Circle, which as WinBeta explains, operates a little like the Windows Insider program, but for gaming. “We are developing Microsoft Solitaire Collection for iOS and Android devices, and we are looking for a group of passionate Solitaire players to help us test our beta version of the game as we continue to work on it,” reads the email.

According to Digital Trends, Solitaire isn’t the most eye-catching or engaging game out there, it’s served many a PC user well over the generations of Windows and will likely find strong popularity on smartphones when released – especially since the classic experience has been augmented by a number of additional features.
