Customers who are facing the dreaded Nexus 5X bootloop issue can now get a full refund from LG. This issue has started to surface in the recent weeks and has left many Nexus 5X users with a paperweight.
The LG Nexus 5X is almost a year old now and has been discontinued. The boot loop issue is related to the hardware found in the Nexus 5X. However, the parts required for repairing bootloop-affected phones are no longer available. Thus, LG is willing to refund the full purchase amount to customers with a faulty device.
Nexus 5X Bootloop Issue
Several customers with the Nexus 5X started to experience a boot loop that rendered their smartphone useless. The phone is usually stuck on the boot process and does not go to the home screen, as per Android Police.
LG Provides Full Refund
Usually, when such problem occurs, companies will either repair the device or send the customer a replacement. Unfortunately, LG apparently has no stock of the parts required for the repair, as reported. Google and LG have both stopped the sales of the Nexus 5X now that the Pixel phones are out. A user who sent his defective Nexus 5X for repair received an email from LG Support that stated the following;
We're sorry to hear that you've experienced a problem with your LGH790 and appreciate you giving us the opportunity to provide a warranty repair. We have received your device at our repair facility but currently a part to complete the repair is out of stock and is no longer available.
To rectify this issue, we would like to offer you a refund for the full amount of your device. That amount will be determined by your sales receipt. Your refund can take approximately 4 weeks to receive due to the holiday.
Customers with a Nexus 5X bootloop-affected device are happy that LG is refunding the amount, which seems to be the right move by LG. Those with remaining warranty and a faulty device should definitely contact LG Support and get a refund.
