Hail, Hello Games! No Man's Sky is finally getting an update in the next few days as the British game developer has officially announced the "Foundation Update." Hello Games confirmed via Steam that it is indeed listening to mixed feedbacks from the community in the course of its silence that lasted for three months. What can No Man's Sky players expect from the update?

Hello Games just announced Saturday, Nov. 26 via post on Steam Community about its so-called "The Foundation Update" for No Man' Sky coming very "soon." In the most unexpected time, Sean Murray and his team has officially spoken regarding the state of the game and what's coming up soon. Accordingly, the 'Foundation Update" will bring in "the foundations of base building." The name also explains of Hello Games' desire to put "in place a foundation for things to come."

Hello Games underscored that a more detailed patch notes of "Foundation Update" will follow. The developer released patch 1.09 last Sept. 24 which it admitted that the "small team has been hard at work on development, testing and certification for the Foundation update" since the hiatus. Hello Games also stressed out that it will not be the largest patch, "but it is the start of something." Hence, players can expect considerably major tweaks and fixes coming up very soon.

In the meantime, players have been vocal in forums and communities that No Man's Sky's core gameplay has been repetitive and monotonous in nature. What they want to see and experience with this distinct space sim includes improvements in planet and creature generation, expansion of boundaries and a lot more. The game badly needs to ditch some borders to unveil more creatures and introduce varying types of worlds across the game.

Despite this good news, many fans have been hesitant of this announcement mainly because they had been dismayed by Hello Games for a couple of times and expecting too much from the "Foundation Update" might do the same. Some players on Reddit even expressed that there's no hope and potential for No Man's Sky anymore.
