No Man's Sky had a recent update that included more than the usual minor bug patches. The recent "Foundation Update" includes a base building option.
No Man's Sky Foundation Update
No Man's sky developer Hello Games recently launched an update that included base building options called "Foundation Update". The developer also said that players should expect major "things to come" although it did not specify what exactly those updates will be. A video demo of the base building option could be seen here. More free updates are coming soon, according to Hello Games.
New Game Modes Added
The latest No Man's Sky update has also added three game modes namely, Normal and Creative as well as Survival. The Normal game mode is the usual gameplay in contrast to Creative which allows players more freedom in exploration. The Survival game mode however, will present the toughest challenge yet to No Man's Sky players.
The No Man's Sky Controversy
No Man's Sky was launched this year surrounded with excitement and controversy. The hype it generated was transformed to outrage after a lot of players voiced out their dissatisfaction with the game. No Man's Sky customers demanded a refund while the number of its Steam players dwindled dramatically. Hello Games was even subjected to an inquiry for false advertisement
Nevertheless, the developer continued its update to the game despite the huge criticism it received from former players. This latest updates however, is the most substantial one yet and may help No Man's Sky attract former and new players to the game.
Hello Games CEO Sean Murray admitted that they preferred to stay quiet during the heated arguements about the game. Instead, the NMS creator and his team decide to devote much of their time in making the game better. Murray said that the "Foundation Update" is only the beginning and more additions to the game will follow.
