Eminem’s grand comeback in the music industry has been successfully welcomed by his long-time followers but failed to miss the ugly truth of being a popular artist. The controversies and rumors tangled to the Rap God and his new album titled “Success” are endless.
Following Donald Trump’s surprising victory in the controversial US presidential race, Eminem’s latest album was forecasted to be a huge flop. Instead of hoping that his hard-hitting track called “Campaign Speech” will top the music charts (as expected), the press and his fans feasted early on the failure of his forthcoming album.
The single that targeted the business tycoon was designed to hate him and put him down. But the goal was not met as Trump proved to be victorious when the official election results proclaimed him as America’s 45th president.
The issues did not stop after Trump’s win. Recent news revealed that Slim Shady’s former wife, Kim Mathers’ involvement in legal battles is likely to affect the release of his latest album.
Kim was sentenced to 1 year of probation and a fine of $900, which she paid straight away. She avoided jail time after pleading guilty in a tragic car accident last year that almost got herself killed.
”It was intentional. I never expected to make it out alive. I sat at the end of a road where I knew that no one else but myself would get hurt. Yes, I drank, yes I took pills and I hit the gas and aimed for a pole,” Mathers said in an interview.
The drunken driving crash happened last October 7, 2015 in Macomb Township where Mathers overdosed herself with pills while under the influence of alcohol and aimed for a pole to commit suicide.
During the court hearing, she was noted to be apologetic for her wrongdoings and went as far as describing herself as someone “selfish and destructive.”
“I didn’t take into consideration the safety of others and the feelings of my family and I'm truly sorry.”
Michael Smith, Kim’s lawyer told the judge that the accident greatly impacted her. In fact, she has been undergoing therapeutic counseling following the devastating incident.
“Her life has been a fishbowl. It’s been magnified with anything she does because of who she was married to. It’s unfair, but she understands it, and that goes with the territory,” Smith said.
Kim and Eminem met in 1989, when both of them were teenagers. They have a daughter, Hailie who grew up to be a lovely lady, now at 20.
The “Not Afraid” singer is yet to comment on the incident that his ex-wife got involved with. Despite the negative publicities thrown at him, he remains stronger and his popularity isn’t lessened. His huge fan base worldwide is but thrilled to see more of his impressive talent in rapping and singing.
Eminem is still Eminem. Nothing and no one can take his fame away from him. After all, his brand lives on.
