Samsung's best-selling Galaxy Note 2, which raked in 5 million worldwide sales within just 60 days of release, continues to be popular with consumers. Now, per reports, U.S. carrier T-Mobile has slashed the price of the Galaxy Note 2 to $199.99 for a limited period only.
T-Mobile normally retails the Galaxy Note 2 for $369.99 on a two-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate, but the carrier has now reduced the price by $170.
"On the heels of news that it may be cutting smartphone contracts as soon as this month comes more news out of T-Mobile as the carrier has cut the price of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 through its website in a deal that lasts through Sunday," reports Gottabemobile.
The T-Mobile deal is valid till Sunday, March 3, and will set consumers back by $199.99 on a new two-year contract after a $100 mail-in rebate. T-Mobile retails both the Marble White and Titanium Gray versions of the Galaxy Note 2.
However, this deal is a web-only exclusive and those looking to take advantage of the offer in brick and mortar stores would be unable to do so. The web-only offer on the Galaxy Note 2 will expire on midnight (March 4) and the smartphone will then go back to its original $369.99 on-contract price.
The T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 is the most expensive when compared to the $299.99 on-contract price demanded by other carriers like AT&T, Verizon Wireless, U.S. Cellular and Sprint. T-Mobile's Galaxy Note 2, however, differs slightly from versions on other carriers as it has a few pre-loaded apps and services, including the full version of EA's Need for Speed game.
The top-of-the-line Galaxy Note 2 phablet sports a 5.5-inch display, a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 16GB of on-board storage (with expandable memory option), an 8-megapixel primary camera, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Moreover, the phablet comes with the S Pen stylus in tow, which is its USP and sets it apart from other smartphones in the same league.
