According to some recent reports, Apple is currently working on an all-glass version of the upcoming iPhone smartphones, which will enable wireless charging technology from Pegatron to be integrated properly into the newest line of iPhones.
Kuo confirms everything
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has recently released a new research note, in which he predicts that the 4.7-inch iPhone 8 will come with wireless charging and an all-glass design, which is an opposition to his previous report that said all models were 'likely' to roll out with the new features.
According to Kuo's note
As the note states: "Our rationale is as follows: One, the OLED model may trigger a replacement demand among high-end users given its completely all-new design form factor and its notably superior specs when compared to the TFT-LCD models; and second, the new 4.7-inch iPhone, featuring a glass casing and wireless charging, will look pretty well-positioned to tap replacement demand at the entry level."
Expectations for next year's iPhone
A wireless charger has been expected to be bundled in with at least some of next year's iPhone 8 models, which are rumored to be including the standard and Plus variants, along with a brand new iteration that features a curved OLED screen.
Wait for more information
According to a report issued just this week from the Wall Street Journal, Apple is currently testing 10 different iPhone 8 prototypes at this current stage, so, for now, there is no exact telling on what will arrive in 2017 just yet. For now, all we have to do is to wait for any further announcements from Apple, which is less likely since the phones are still currently under development.
Release date of the iPhone 8
The iPhone 8 is expected to officially launch in September of 2017, but Apple has already remained characteristically quiet when it comes to any specific details. For now, it is best to take Kuo's predictions with a grain of salt at this early stage.
