Chocobos in Final Fantasy XV aren't limited to the bright yellow color you're used to. After getting access to them, you can opt to go the extra mile to dress them up in different colors. There are a total of secret pears in the game that can unlock new colors for your Chocobo. Some can be found on certain conditions and others in certain races. Here's a guide to all their locations.
Cieldalaes Pear
The Cieldalaes Pear in Final Fantasy XV is available in the Prompto and Full Field race. At the start of the race, go the opposite way instead of charging forward. You will immediately spot the Chocobo pear beside a fenced tree to your left. It will give your ride a bright yellow green color.
Xelphatol Pear
Race against Gladiolus next to find the Xelphatol Pear, which is also available in the Iris race. This time, though, charge forward. It will take a while to spot the marker, so be alert at all times. Once you spot a wooden shack on your left on a curve, jump through the fence. Run forward and scale the disconnected fence. Once you find an opening on that fence, go in. The Final Fantasy XV Chocobo pear is carefully hidden in the grass. It will give the Final Fantasy XV Chocobo a fancy red color.
Han Pear
Next is the Han Pear, which you'll find in the Ignis and Rocky Road race. You'll start at the same point and you will again turn your back and run the opposite direction. Immediately turn right to an opening before the stone fence to go off-road. Keep the first tree you see to your left and just move forward. You will immediately have to jump a fence onto a road, but keep running in the same direction so you will once again go off-road.
For a more specific direction, just go North East through the help of the on-screen compass. Just keep moving until you enter a section full of trees and then slow down. Look for the Chocobo pear around the first tree you see before entering the thicket and you'll find it on the ground. It turns the Chocobo a Tiffany green color.
Doman Pear
Next we have the Final Fantasy XV Doman Pear, which is available in the Prompto and Ignis race. But it has a special condition: it has to be raining. Turn your back again and retrace the steps you took when you were looking for the Han Pear. This time, however, pay attention to the large boulders on your right after going off-road the second time. The Doman pear is in between these large boulders. It gives your Chocobo a light blue color.
Mamook Pear
In the Final Fantasy XV Chocobo Hoops: Grange Gallop race, you will find the Mamook Pear provided that it's raining. Don't move forward nor turn backwards. Turn left and jump the stone fence. Follow the rocks that look like tree stumps and once you've hit deadend, turn left to immediately find the Chocobo pear that gives the bird a green color.
O'Ghomoro Pear
O'Ghomoro Pear is available in Prompto, Ignis and Full Field Race. It also has a special condition: it has to be at night between the hours of 8:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Go the opposite direction again and this time just keep moving forward, eventually passing the fenced area where you got your first pear.
Just run in a single direction until you find the Final Fantasy XV Chocobo Races stand. Follow the road until you find another Chocobo Races sign. The pear is directly in front of it. It gives the Chocobo a blue color.
Val Pear
The last on this list is the Val Pear, which is available in Rocky Road and maybe in Chocobo Hoops: Grange Gallop race. You have to get it at night between 8:30 p.m. and 4 a.m. After the first hoop, you'll spot a rock formation on your right. Make your way to the top (you can do it) and you'll find the pear sitting near the edge. It will give a purple color to your Chocobo.
Some dyes will be unlocked automatically, but the collection is not complete without the aforementioned colors. Watch the video below for visual directions to all 7 hidden pears. Meanwhile, check out also our Final Fantasy XV beginner's guide and how to unlock Chocobos.
