Samsung Galaxy S3 users who are awaiting the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software upgrade may not have a much longer wait ahead if a recent report is to be believed.
Per a SamMobile report, even though no official release date is currently known, the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is nearly ready for the Galaxy S3.
"We of SamMobile did some research and found out that Samsung is almost done with the Android 4.1.2 update for the Galaxy S III," reports the website.
The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update will bring a slew of new enhancements ad features Galaxy S3 users' way, including the much-touted Multi-Windows View feature.
The Multi-Window View feature enables users to multi-task by letting them run two applications on the same screen simultaneously. The feature will add split-screen functionality to the Galaxy S3's 4.8-inch screen. This feature is already available for its sibling the Galaxy Note 2.
Some of the other enhancements the new software update will bring are Page Buddy, new Gallery app (like the Galaxy Note 2), a customizable Notification Panel, disabling of brightness in Notification panel, Paper Artist app, Smart Rotation, inputs in Samsung Keyboard (like Swipe), and Group Cast app for media sharing.
According to the report, Samsung has not listed some countries and carriers for the Android 4.1.2 update. It is unknown if these regions will skip the update. The unlisted countries and carriers are as follows:

Earlier in February, and XDA Developers forum member had leaked the Android 4.1.2 ROM for U.S. carrier Verizon's variant of the Galaxy S3 LTE, sparking off speculations that the official release was in the anvil.
Rumors are also rife that Samsung will push out the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software upgrade to the Galaxy S3 after the release of its successor, the Galaxy S4.
With the Galaxy S4 slated for a March 14 release, we will have to wait and see if Samsung pushes out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3 prior to the smartphone's launch.
