Nike's first power-lacing sneaker is finally available on the market today. Nike Fans hoping to get their hands on the futuristic shoe will need be heading to New York City, at least for now. Here are some updates about the futuristic shoes.
The HyperAdapt Shoes Features And What You Should Know
Nike unveiled an image of the packaging on Thursday. It sports not only the main attraction, but also a Quick Starter guide, charging pucks which magnetically attach to the bottom of each sneaker, and also has an AC adapter. Nike mentioned that with regular use the incorporated battery should keep the tech functioning for up to two weeks on just a one time charge. The shoe's built-in lights glow three different colors to notify you the state of the battery. A full charge could take three hours or less.
The HyperAdapt shoes, which will feature the same technology, have arrived in a sleek, low-top style more likely to Nike's Flyknit series. The shoes are outfitted with pressure sensors inside the shoe which respond to help tighten the laces on the sneakers. Buttons on the side allow the tightness variances to adjust depending on the wearer's preference. Nike hyperAdapt shoe users can recharge the sneakers by just placing them on a charging dock.
Tinker Hatfield and Tiffany Beers designed The HyperAdapt shoe Mentioned earlier this year, Hatfield, Nike's vice president for design stated he believes adaptive lacing could be a hit with athletes as the system provides a "tailored-to-the-moment" custom fit.

The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 shoe, which imitates technology from the movie "Back to the Future II," is only on sale so far at two stores in SoHo, and the futuristic shoe cost $720. Some Nike Plus app users are also being given offers to order the shoe through the app.
