Deal Alert: Verizon Offers Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 For $600

Verizon Wireless will be offering Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 in an LTE version this week.

The tablet will be available online for $599.99 in a 4G LTE version with 16 GB internal flash storage on Thursday. This is only $100 more than the Wi-Fi only variant of the Galaxy Note 10.1.

Verizon users who want the tablet can choose to use the device on either a prepaid plan or add it to a “Share Everything” plan where it will be bundled with other mobile devices sharing data. The “Share Everything” plans allows users to bundle up to 10 devices (25 for small businesses). The prepaid plans come in a range from $20 per month for one GB of data to $80 per month for 10 GB.

Samsung’s introduction of the Galaxy Note 10.1 into the Verizon market reflects its bold plans for this year. In an interview with CNET at the Mobile World Congress last week, Y.H. Lee, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile division, revealed that the company plans to double last year’s tablet sales this year.

“We expect to be very aggressive,” he said.

Samsung unveiled three new Galaxy devices at Mobile World congress, including the Galaxy Note 2 and Note 8. Both are phablets, with the 5.5-inch Note 2 sitting closer (it’s still way bigger than an iPhone 5) to the phone side of the spectrum and the eight-inch Note 8 approaching iPad Mini territory. It’s clear that the Note 10.1 is being groomed to be the iPad killer.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 will go on sale online and at physical Verizon stores on Thursday.
