The Samsung Gear S3 Is Your New Ultimate Travel Buddy

The Apple Watch Series 2 rules the market, and the only Android manufacturer that's continually updating and expanding its smartwatch lineup is Samsung.Hardly any Android Wear smartwatches were rolled out this year, and funnily enough, the only great choice for Android users is a watch that doesn't run Android Wear. On the other hand, Samsung is the top leading Android smartphone manufacturer, it uses its own proprietary software: Tizen for Gear smartwatches.

The Samsung Gear S3 Is Your Great Travel Buddy

Available to download today, the app will allow Gear S3 users browse through Lonely Planet's library of the world's best travel destinations, and includes its travel tips and guides. Spanning all over 50 cities across the globe the app will let you show the top and best places that are relevant to the user's location, however, it will also let users bookmark or route directions to destinations of interest.

Users can team up the app with their smartphone to send over trip suggestions, which can then be shared with friends using the mobile device. Both models have an elegant round design everyone is fond of, most especially because the S3 looks like a regular watch. I usually prefer classic designs akin to the Classic S3, but the Frontier has more to give. It looks more like a standard wristwatch than the Apple's futuristic Watch. The Gear S3 also comes with pre-installed with some odd watch faces, but thankfully the companion app is chock full of free and paid faces you can get or install.

The Samsung Gear S3 Price

The build quality is really impressive - the Frontier model feels like it's worthy of its price tag, $350 . It's made of stainless steel, more likely to the Gear S2, and it has the same IP68 waterproof rating. Which means you can dip it down to 1 meter underwater for 30 minutes. It works great in the rain, though it will cause temporary touch issues the longer it gets wet.
