Tom Cruise Movie Update: Casting The Mummy; The Mummy Awakens To Terrorize The World Again

A short but interesting teaser of a classic action movie franchise came out Thursday. There's not much have been seen really in the Tom Cruise The Mummy trailer, but Universal Pictures said to expect new and longer teaser released this weekend.

Tom Cruise The Mummy Trailer Teases Viewer Upcoming Plot

The short teaser trailer has shown a weird double iris-eyed mummy. It is played by actress Sofia Boutella. This sneak peek of the movie The Mummy remake also treats fans with the first glimpse of actor Nick Morton, who is the film's lead character. It's also the role played by Cruise.

In the trailer, you notice a mummy being removed from an underground crypt somewhere in the Egyptian desert. It will be interesting to see how the creature will terrorize the world.

Cruise's character is then seen swimming in an underwater tomb and running in what appears to be a museum. The Mummy trailer ended with a sight of the mummy extending her hands. Buildings are falling apart behind her and she was screaming.

Cruise took on Twitter to express his excitement for the The Mummy remake trailer. The actor said he cannot wait to bring the mummy to life. He also assured fans that the full trailer for The Mummy movie will be coming out on Sunday.

The Mummy New Plot

Based on the storyline summary, the mummy awakens in the modern day, "bringing with her malice grown over centuries and terrors that defy human understanding." The mummy is said to be an old ancient princess. Aside from Cruise and Boutella, The Mummy also stars Russell Crowe, Courtney B. Vance, Annabelle Wallis and Jake Johnson. It is under the direction of Alex Kurtzman.
