Dauntless Trailer Revealed At The Game Awards; New Free-To-Play Title From BioWare, Blizzard, Capcom, And Riot Ex Devs

The Game Awards 2016 has been a great avenue for new games to debut on aside from the mixed feelings of seeing your favorite titles winning and losing, including seeing your favorite game developers on stage. One of the biggest reveals during one of the most prestigious awards shows is the introduction of a new game developed by a new studio composed of "super developers."

The super developers we are referring to are from BioWAre, Capcom, Riot and Blizzard and they have formed a new indie studio in 2014 named Phoenix Labs. And guess what, they revealed their very first game titled Dauntless during The 2016 Game Awards. And yes, this co-op action fantasy RPG will soon immerse gamers like nothing before.

In Dauntless game, players are plunged into an "untamed science fantasy world" as they play as one of the four elite Slayers who are tasked to protect humanity against Behemoths or scary giant monsters in the post-apocalyptic world. These brave Slayers are able to craft strong weapons and can travel to the floating islands to hunt down monsters.

Phoenix Labs co-founder, Jesse Houston, who has worked on notable games such as League of Legends and Mass Effect said that Dauntless follows after Monster Hunter and Dark Souls however, this game will be downloadable and free-to-play. As a co-op game, players are allowed to join in parties to fight off Behemoths but to those who prefer playing solo, they can do this as well.

When Dauntless' Houston was asked about forming Phoenix Labs, he answered, "Phoenix Labs is made up of the most talented and passionate game developers in the world. We make games because we love to play them, and we want to share these experiences with gamers everywhere. We've taken inspiration from games like Dark Souls, Monster Hunter, and World of Warcraft to create a new, gripping gaming experience."

Dauntless is slated for release as a downloadable free-to-play game for the PC.
