Final Fantasy XV is an open world action role-playing video game that is now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game was released worldwide on Nov. 29 and is the fifteenth main installment in the Final Fantasy series.
In the previous article, we have discussed how to master elemancy (the art of magic and spell crafting). It is also important to obtain the 13 royal arms and learn more about the power leveling. When all these are completed, you might want to master combat in detail. Provided below is a handy guide in combat including tips for using combos, finishers and breaks.
Blitz Combo And Finishers In Final Fantasy XV
Blitz is an attack activated when a player holds down the circle button or presses "B" to perform a plain combo. In the game, great swords offer the longest Blitz combos compared to the other moves.
After the Blitz combo, there will be a period given to perform the Finisher. The Finisher is a powerful attack that comes with added bonuses. Release circle or "B" button, then press it again to execute the move.
Aerial Attacks And Blindsides
In Final Fantasy XV, unlocking the Airstep Ascension ability is important to remain airborne. Although, it is okay to attack in the air using any weapon, a sword or pole arm is the most effective. The last two weapons allows the player to perform the Death Drop ability that lets you close the distance from far away without using much MP. In addition, learning the Osmostrike Ascension also lets you do aerial attacks while recovering MP at the same time.
A Blindside occurs automatically upon attacking the enemy from behind. Party members acquire a 1.5x damage multiplier when executing this move. Such moves work best with roll-dodging. It works even better when paired with Great Swords or daggers. When Noctis learns the Stalker and Super Stalker Ascension abilities, his blindside attacks increases up to 2.0.
Perform Warp Strikes In Final Fantasy XV
Warp-strikes are attack moves with powerful damage that can stop enemies in their tracks. Each time you defeat an enemy through a warp strike, you will receive 1 AP. To execute the move, you mist hit the triangle or "Y" button while locked on. Each warp will cost you 30 MP. It can be repeated multiple times in a row by holding down the button.
The damage it does is determined based on the distance of Noctis and his target. The farther the distance, the greater the damage it gives. You can increase the warp strike damage through acquiring the Warp Factor and Warp Factor II in Ascension.
How To Break And Beat Every Enemy In The Game
In Final Fantasy XV, some larger enemies have distinct body parts called "appendages." You can cycle through them by pressing the "R" button while locked onto it. Weapon attacks have the ability to break the enemy, with the literal word "break" appearing on screen. Here is everything you need to know to "break" your enemies.
Breaks occur when the enemy's hidden durability parameter is reduced to 0. It is important to remember that spells are not break-capable. Since breaking a body part reduces either vitality or strength by a large percentage, knowing what stat each appendage is linked can strategically be useful to take out enemies.
Certain weapons and a few specific attacks grants more breakage bonuses. All Blitz comboc, Finishers, parries and warp-strikes are break-capable attacks. Attacks with great power bonuses include Great Swords(Blitz Combo), Pole Arms(Aerial Attack) and Machinery (Circular Saw, Drill Breaker). In Final Fantasy XV, there is a hidden damage modifier based on the type of weapon used and the specific attack you brought to bear.
