Unique Ferrari LaFerrari Was Finally Sold As The Most Expensive Auction Item Of The Century

Back in September, Ferrari announced that they would be creating a final model for the famous and one of the world's fastest road cars, the Ferrari LaFerrari. The one of a kind Laferrari will be the five hundredth model and will be auctioned off for the purpose of raising funds for the victims of the earthquake that struck Central Italy in August of this year. The much-awaited auction was held at the Finali Mondiali event at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida on Saturday.

Ferrari Now Holds The Record For The Most expensive Item Sold At An Auction

The audiences were astonished as the auction was being held as the unique Laferrari sold at an astounding final auction price of $7 million dollars, which is five times more than the original price of the car. Not only is that price a very huge amount, but it now hold the records for the most expensive item sold at an auction and the most valuable 21st century car sold at an auction. This LaFerrari is still powered by the same 6.3liter V12 Hybrid engine that puts out an astonishing 940horse power and more than 600 pound-feet of torque. The car can reach zero to 60 miles in less than three seconds and can reach top speeds of 350 220 miles per hour.

The Last LaFerrari Stands Out From The Rest

Although the power output levels are the same with the rest of the other 499 Laferrari models, this one of a kind Ferrari showcases the Italian tricolor flag on the front fascia and a unique plaque inside. The Ferrari truly brings it prominence to the highest level and shows that they are truly one of the best. All the proceeds will benefit the earthquake victims and the reconstruction of structures in Central Italy.
