According to a report, the Galaxy S8 could be Samsung’s first Android flagship smartphone to feature stereo speakers. The pressure is very high on Samsung because of the Galaxy Note 7 incidents and the S8 is really turning into the most important launch in the company's history. We have seen some other features that might reflect on the Samsung Galaxy S8, but ti have its built-in stereo speakers is new to us.
Samsung Galaxy S8 To Have Stereo Speakers
As reported by VR-Zone, stereo speakers have been a standard feature on HTC flagship smartphones since a few years now, and Apple too switched to a stereo setup on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus this year. To take on Apple, Samsung could reportedly use audio technology from Harman, which is recently acquired for nearly $8 billion.
It seems it could be another case of where Apple goes, Samsung follows. It would be a wise move from Samsung, since Harman owns several companies including JBL, AKG, Harman Kardon, proving it knows what it's talking about when it comes to audio, as reported by Pocket-Lint.
Who Is Harman International Industry?
Harman International Industries is a global leader in connected car technology, lifestyle audio innovations, design and analytics, cloud services and IoT solutions. It is an American company that designs and engineers connected products for automakers, consumers and enterprises worldwide, including connected car systems
However, Samsung’s automotive division Chief Park Jong-hwan mentioned during a press conference last month that he expects Harman audio technology to be fully implemented in the company’s flagship Galaxy S series earliest by 2018. So, maybe, Samsung Galaxy S8 could only feature Harman-branding and not audio technology sourced from the company.
As of now, there is still no confirmation for both Samsung and Harman. We can conclude that Galaxy S8 will be (so far) Samsung's flagship smartphones with the latest features, but not yet sure if it will really have a stereo, speakers.
