Amazon Wireless is running a great deal on Verizon's Samsung Galaxy S3, the model many people still consider the best smartphone on the market. For a price of $69.99 when signing the usual new two-year contract, consumers can grab the best-selling Android smartphone on the market, with the features and specs to prove why it is.
The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 includes a 4.8-inch 306ppi (pixels per inch) 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED Plus HD display, Android 4.0 (upgradable to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean), 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of internal memory, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with zero shutter lag and LED Flash, 1.9-megapixel front camera, 1080p HD video capture (rear camera), 720p HD video capture (front-facing camera), 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC (near field communications), microSD slot with support for up to 64GB microSD cards and a 2,100 mAh removable battery.
Verizon's Samsung Galaxy S3 is upgradable to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean out of the box, and it will also be getting Android 4.1.2 very soon, along with Samsung's Galaxy S3 Premium Suite Upgrade, which includes some very cool features: multi-window functionality (enabling users to separate their screen into two windows to use two apps at once), a new customizable notifications panel, smart rotation and new NFC and reader features.
Other features of the suite include contextual menus that automatically adjust based on a user's previous and most frequent actions. Users also have the ability to set up a music program to launch immediately when they plug in headphones. New tagging features are in the camera application and an optional notifications ticker is available from the lock screen.
Amazon's deal is a substantial savings over the $199 Verizon is currently charging for the smartphone in its retail and online stores. Amazon lists the Verizon Galaxy S3 as in stock and will ship within 24 hours; it is also offering free two-day shipping on the Samsung Galaxy S3.
