Leaked photos of cases purported to be for the Samsung Galaxy S4 made the rounds on Thursday. The leak is not dissimilar from the one we reported in February, but don't act like you're not dying to see the pics anyway.
The images come by way of CeBIT 2013 in Hanover, Germany. Site of the 2000 World's Fair, the city is currently home to a few spectacularly noteworthy pieces of non-descript plastic, molded in the shape, allegedly, of the Galaxy S4, which is expected sometime in April.
Samsung is likely to unveil the Galaxy S4 in New York City at a March 14 event at Radio City Music Hall, but in the meantime, we have the leaked photos to infer the S4's form factor.
The cases are manufactured by Shenzhen-based accessory outfit MyLiving. Mobile Geeks examined the cases and after ascertaining that a Galaxy S3 did not fit inside, "authenticated" them as real. The publication's hands-on review is already garnering a large volume of responses, many of which challenge the conclusion that the case is for the Galaxy S4:
"thats not a SGS4 case!!!"
"Probably LG phone"
"the ph0ne n0t event exist. ."
"S4 is beyond what can be imagined. Be patient, it's almost smartphone Christmas morning on March 14, Santa Samsung will not disappoint."
The main differences between the alleged S4 case and a standard S3 case were in the openings cut into the design. While the new accessory also had openings for a speaker, camera and flash, the order they appear in is reversed.
One of the new cases also has a double opening where the speaker would go, suggesting a size increase, or possibly multiple speakers. Or possibly, the case was just a random piece of plastic that "Santa Samsung" would not touch with a ten-foot pole.
