The Final Fantasy Anniversary celebration for 2017 will result in the re-release of previous installments. Included in the FF titles are a remake and a game update that only Japanese players have access to.
Final Fantasy is 30 Years Old in 2017
The Final Fantasy anniversary celebration in 2017 marks the 30th year of the game's franchise. FF developer Square Enix has just released Final Fantasy XV this year. Next year however, the developer is going to release the remake version of Final Fantasy VII - First Episode.
FF XII once got The Zodiac Age update but it was never released outside Japan. As part of the Final Fantasy anniversary celebration, the rest of the world will received it on 2017. This year alone, the FF XIII trilogy is expected to be release for the PlayStation 4 gaming console. The bundled trilogy will be presented on 1080p running at 60fps.
FF Collections Coming on 2017
The Final Fantasy anniversary celebration will also result in the release of an FF game titles compilation starting from I to IX. PlayStation 4 and PS Vita players can obtain through a single disc or card. FF I to VI will also have both the NES/SNES version and largely mobile ports. The rest of the FF game titles will have the newest ports.
Interestingly, the NES version of FF II and III will have English translations. The FF compilation follows the Japanese game version. This means that Western player will have access to parts that were deleted when the games exported. The game's censorship policy for the international market however, is still in effect. The collection also includes a collection of arts and songs from the game series in commemoration of the Final Fantasy anniversary celebration.
Three FF Collection Versions
The Final Fantasy anniversary celebration collections will reportedly be available in three editions. There will be a basic package which includes the game titles and poster. The Collector's package will have the additional key chain, discs and art book. The Complete version will have a limited time subscription and a few more items.
