The Last Guardian may have taken over a decade to develop but with a mythical creature and high levels of difficulty, apparently the game is not just for kids. Although, technically, the protagonist is a kid. The Last Guardian reportedly comes with a challenging high level of difficulty as well as stunning art. In terms of the gameplay, while there were clunky controls noted, the gameplay was noted by PS Lifestyle as pure perfection. It should also be noted that The Last Guardian actually refers to TEAM ICO's magnum opus.
The Last Guardian has been noted as a flashback narrative of an old man reminiscing his younger days meeting a mixed-creature of sorts. The story starts when the man, as a boy is abducted and taken captive in a castle where he meets his co-prisoner--Trico. Together, the two of them work together to escape the bonds of captivity and later on have a longer-lasting bond, friendship.
The Last Guardian is also said to be a puzzle game filled with action and adventure. The story has been noted in the third-person perspective and the protagonist's actions include running, jumping and climbing. Additionally, the young boy is also required to get Trico the mythical creature to perform several actions though it has been noted from the beginning that the griffin-dog-cat-eagle creature may need to be trained first. However, this may lead to Trico acting like a dog by rolling over r playing fetch.
In other news, The Last Guardian may be difficult to maneuver at first except if Trico and the boy are to be used as guides. Note that the two usually have their gaze on where to go next. Moreover, when captured by guards, note to mash the face buttons and d-pad so the guards will drop the protagonist.
The Last Guardian Blue Doors reportedly means the Game is Over. Furthermore, Trico may receive commands after the two form a bond so take note of the following: R1+X to jump, R1+Square to attack, R1+Circle+Direction to move, and R1+Triangle to get on hind legs or go to the boy.
