Latest Samsung Galaxy S8 Rumors: RGB Super AMOLED Panel To Be Used, Home Button And Audio Jack To Be Ditched

The Samsung Galaxy S8's arrival is expected in about a couple of months. This is why rumors about this Samsung flagship get stronger now more than ever. As per recent reports, it looks like the company is headed to a more innovative future with the Samsung Galaxy S8.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Display Rumors

Recent reports suggest that Samsung will be using an RGB Super AMOLED panel for the S8 instead of the Diamond PenTile. GSM Arena says that this could result to about 50 percent increase in subpixels. This means that the pictures will be sharper and be of higher quality. Furthermore, the said panel will come with a more durable set of materials, so damaging it should be more difficult to do.

Samsung Galaxy S8 To Remove The Home Button And Headphone Jack

On top of the display panel rumor, there are also news about Samsung's use of a display-embedded fingerprint scanner as they ditch the iconic home button. On top of that, the company may also be ditching the 3.5 mm jack that all smartphones have known and loved. Instead, a USB-Type C port will be used for the audio. This should mean a slimmer Samsung Galaxy S8 with a bigger phone battery.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date

The Galaxy S8 should be announced Q1 of next year. As per expectations, it could be made official in February and hit the shelves the next month. As for the price, Tech Radar says it could be at around $850. Needless to say, there should be so much pressure in Samsung's shoulder now that they are refreshing their flagship line after Note 7's discontinuation. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is the company's first flagship release after their Note 7 failure. Samsung fans just need to keep their fingers crossed that the company will no longer face the same fate as they did with the Note 7.
