LG told the world today about their new MT93 27-inch Smart TV, and looking at the impressive spec sheet attached, it is easy to get excited.
The LG MT93 packs several state of the art features into a surprisingly svelt package. Sure, the "Personal Smart TV" sports a 27-inch screen, but beyond the screen is almost unnoticable bezel, making your eye fall right off the edge.
The screen itself produces gorgeous 1920x1080 Full HD video, with 3D video capabilities to boot. It uses In-plane Switching technology which can "outperform Twisted Nematic (TN) and Vertical Alignment (VA) technologies with their vivid colors that look lifelike from almost any angle," according to a press release from LG.
But this TV has more than looks. It runs same popular apps as most Smart TV’s or set-top boxes that cover the breadth of what most people want out of their TV –– Netflix, Hulu Plus, Facebook, etc. –– as well as some LG exclusives like 3D World and Game World.
On top of all this, the MT93 contains a bunch of technology that allows it to be used with many computers. HDMI ports allow the TV to be used as a computer monitor, while WiDi and Miracast technologies built in allow screen-sharing with select devices.
Though smaller than many popular TVs today, LG says this model has been designed for economical usage of space.
"The MT93 LG IPS Personal Smart TV is a brilliant personal smart entertainment centerpiece, ideally suited for individual spaces," Il-geun Kwon, Senior Vice President and Head of the LG Home Entertainment Company's IT Business Unit, said. "LG designed its Personal Smart TV lineup to meet the growing demand for compact, multipurpose devices suitable for bedrooms, studio apartments and dormitories. The MT93 is the best in its class and its thin bezel design belies a well-rounded set of features that consumers have come to expect from LG's large screen Smart TVs."
The MT93 ships in Europe this month, with other regions around the world to be announced later.
The price has also yet to be announced.
