Just recently, we reported an alleged leak of Battlefield 1's new weapon, the Crossbow Grenade Launcher. And today, EA Dice finally confirmed the rumors regarding the peculiar weapon and sets an official release date alongside the game's new multiplayer map, Giant's Shadow.
Battlefield 1 Update: Giant's Shadow and Crossbow Grenade Launcher
EA Dice finally breaks its silence for the game's December update which will entail a new multiplayer map and a new secondary weapon. In an official trailer released by the studio, players will now be able to use the new Crossbow Grenade Launcher which seems to function quite similarly as the Grenade Launcher. The Reddit community suggests that the new weapon may somehow provide higher accuracy against distant targets.
Aside from the new weapon, it's exciting to see what the new multiplayer map will provide thrills to the fans given the fact that the single player experience is amazingly ecstatic. The setting of Giant's Shadow is set along the final period of World War 1 in Sell River, France - which is famously known as the Hundred Days Offensive.
The trailer highlights vantage points against trains and other heavy vehicles which makes the use of weapons such as the Crossbow Grenade Launcher highly effective against unsuspecting enemies. If you love demolishing your enemies from above then this map can't get any better!
Giant's Shadow will be released alongside the Crossbow Grenade Launcher for free beginning on the 20th of December. Premium owners and those that have pre-ordered the game will have early access to the new map. DICE didn't pointed, however, if the weapon is included for the early access. Nonetheless, the patch is definitely an early present from the studio this coming holiday season.
Battlefield 1 is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
