NBC's science-fiction drama series "Timeless" welcomes Annie Wersching as a part of their cast. The time travel show that premiered in October this year has been ordered for a three-episode addition, leaving its first season with a total of 16 episodes.
The story of "Timeless" revolves around a stolen experimental time machine that has landed into the wrong hands. Ex-NASA asset Garcia Flynn played by Goran Višnjić got hold of the powerful device and strangely disappeared off the grid after killing his wife and child.
A special team formed by history professor Lucy Preston (Abigail Spencer), soldier Wyatt Logan (Matt Lanter) and engineer Rufus Carlin (Malcolm Barett) was then sent back in time to capture the scoundrel.
Somewhere in the story, the group discovered Flynn's master plan of changing American history with the device. Also a personal motive from each rescuer character was revealed - Preston for her ailing mother, Logan on the death of his wife and Carlin with the kidnapping of his mentor, Anthony Bruhl.
The Eric Kripke and Shawn Ryan creation is bound for an extension and is giving its viewers more reasons to stay hooked. They are to cast Wersching, the "24" series star who took on the role of an FBI agent.
She is to play Emma Whitmore in the time travel adventure series. Her character is a solitary woman who is hiding in a cabin somewhere deep in the woods. Her role plays a significant part in Flynn's storyline and holds interesting connections that are to be revealed in the next episodes.
Wersching has built up her career with guest appearances in renowned shows like "CSI," "NCIS," "Hawaii Five-0," "Body of Proof," "Blue Bloods," "Castle" and more. The actress is presently in the regular series of Amazon Prime's crime flick entitled "Bosch."
"Timeless" airs on NBC and Global on Monday nights at 10:00 p.m.
