Is Samsung adding a 3D camera to the Samsung Galaxy S4?
It could possibly happen for a few reasons. Samsung filed a patent pertaining to 3D Video/Image capturing and a new Panorama Camera System. There are current rumors that Samsung will be including a new panoramic feature for the Galaxy S4's camera called "Samsung Orb." Another clue is in Samsung's Galaxy S4 event invitation which highlights the number "4" in 3D-style, and could be a hint that a 3D camera will in fact be part of the Samsung Galaxy S4 when it's announced on March 14.
If all the current rumors of what we should expect on the Samsung Galaxy S4 are true, it's clear that Samsung is focused not only on differentiating itself from other Android smartphones, but more importantly it is sending a message to Apple and the world that Samsung isn't resting on its laurels and will continue to innovate and keep itself as the king of the smartphone world.
Samsung went from being just another Android licensee, competing mainly with HTC, Motorola, and LG, all of whom Samsung is so far ahead with market share that it has now set its sights on Apple's iPhone. Since the release of the Samsung Galaxy S2, and especially the Galaxy S3, Samsung has shifted its strategy to offer a true alternative to the iPhone — and luckily for the electronics giant, that strategy has paid off.
Sammobile believes it's very possible that Samsung will be bringing these camera features to the Galaxy S4, but warns it could be intended for another upcoming device. The fact that it's already been leaked that Samsung will offer a new panoramic camera feature called Samsung Orb and now it's plain to see that Samsung has in fact made the "4" appear 3D in its invitation, sounds like it will most likely be a feature in the Samsung Galaxy S4.
