After more than 10 years of absence Chevrolet finally confirms that Blazer is coming back. The first time Chevrolet Blazer came to the auto market was in 1969 and it went up against a fierce rival in the form of Ford's Bronco. Unlike the Blazer however, the Bronco never left. This means that when the Blazer makes its comeback, its old rival will be waiting.
The Chevrolet Blazer
As reported, some spy photographers have caught Chevrolet testing a prototype of a midsize SUV. It was mentioned that this model will be slotted between the automaker's Traverse and Equinox. In the same report, it was stated that the new midsize SUV will carry the name "Blazer" when its production begins.
There May Not Be A Face-Off
Apparently, the new Blazer may not exactly be the one that usually comes to mind when someone mentions it. In a report from Fox News, it was stated that the Blazer is probably going to be a crossover when it makes its comeback instead of a truck-based SUV. Apparently, the Bronco will also go through some transformations. It was stated in the same report that the new model will make use of the body platform as the Ford Ranger. Since Blazer and Bronco are no longer what they used to be, there may not be any face-off between the old rivals.
When The Blazer Might Arrive
Most of the details regarding the comeback of the Chevrolet Blazer are still under wraps at the moment. However, reports state that the Chevrolet Blazer might make a debut in one of the auto shows in the following year. It was also mentioned that the Chevrolet Blazer may also start hitting showrooms sometime in 2017 but will be sold as a 2018 model. In any case, those that are looking forward to the return of the Chevrolet Blazer will simply have to wait a just little bit longer.
