Startup electric car company, Faraday Future, manufactured and unveiled the FFZER01 a few months back. It's a 1000 horsepower concept vehicle that was aimed at competing with well-known supercars. Recently, they showed teaser pictures of what said would be the first production car that they will produce. On December 9, they just released another teaser, this time a YouTube video, showing the, yet to be revealed car going head to head in a drag race with known powerful cars.
Faraday Future Releases A New Teaser Video
In the video, the Faraday Future car can be seen wrapped in what looks like a black vinyl wrap. Still not showing what the car looks like, it can be seen on the starting lines of a drag strip with cars like the 660horse power Ferrari 488 GTB, Bentley Bentayga, and even the powerful Tesla Model X P100D. The video only extends to the start of the race and explains in the text to "stay connected" asking viewers to stay tuned for the results.
What We Know About Faraday Future's Secret Car
From what we know, the new production car from Faraday Future is going to be an all-electric vehicle that is rumored to be capable of going up to a 300 miles range on a single charge. The batteries or battery pack is going to be provided by LG Chem. And, that the electric production car will be unveiled at the 2017 Consumer Electronic Show. The startup company has announced no further details yet.
The Tesla Model X with the Ludicrous mode is capable of reaching zero to 60 miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds. It features an electric engine that puts out more than 700 horsepower to the wheels. This powerful Tesla vehicle can reach up to a 289-mile range of road on a single full charge. These are powerful and significant numbers that Faraday Future is attempting to challenge, or may have already beaten.
The Teasers Are Getting Tiresome
Faraday Future may be setting their goals too high, as they have not really proven anything yet in terms of production cars, aside from the FFZER01 concept car. Some fans cannot help but feel anxious with the teasers that Faraday Future has been releasing and just want the company to just stop the telling and do more showing. YouTube commenters are clearly showing that they are starting to get annoyed and asking the company to just show the result without making people wait. It is highly acceptable for both fans and car enthusiasts to feel that way since most of these crowd are used to showing what they have and people who want to see the action and not just talk about it.
Teasers are a good marketing strategy for companies, especially for those who are still in their startup stages. But revealing too little and not giving something to speculate on may get fans aggravated. A good teaser will at least reveal something that the fans will look forward to and something to theorize about. Two pictures that only show a very limited amount of detail and a 17-second video may not be such a good idea to sell your brand. Faraday Future may need to change their marketing plan and stratagem if they want to be big in the market. Or just simply reveal your product and get it over with. It will be the consumers anyway that would decide on how long you can survive in this highly competitive world of the electric automotive industry.
