Rumors point to issues in Google's and Samsung's current relationship. If those rumors are true, it appears that someone at Google has leaked an image and specs of the X Phone just before Samsung gets ready to unveil its Galaxy S4 to the world.
According to AUSODROID, a source sent an image of a device with the photo titled "Motorola NXT." The Motorola NXT is expected to feature a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 full HD display. There is speculation that Google/Motorola will be using a Qualcomm dual-core processor due to LTE performance when used with Qualcomm chips. There is also another rumor that the smartphone will use an Nvidia Tegra 4i processor. The smartphone will feature a 10-megapixel rear-facing camera. Google is reportedly focusing on better optics instead of megapixels. The smartphone is also expected to be the first device to run Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. This is a rumor, so take it with a huge grain of salt.
It's just very coincidental that this image and specs would get leaked right before Samsung is holding probably the biggest event it will hold this year, the debut of the Samsung Galaxy S4. Could Google be trying to slow down Samsung's run into what is expected to be a sure hit for Samsung by leaking an image and specs of the X Phone?
It sounds like Google might want to remind Samsung who's boss. The timing does not help Samsung, to say the least. There have been two Android smartphones many people have been waiting for and those two smartphones are the Galaxy S4 and the X Phone. The X Phone name seems to have been a codename, as the image leak shows a "Motorola NXT." The leaks of the X Phone specs could make some potential Samsung Galaxy S4 owners save their money for the Motorola NXT, aka the X Phone.
Google is expected to announce the Motorola NXT at its Google I/O Developers Conference which is being held May 15 through May 17.
