Apple AirPods Will Be Delayed Again Due To Technical Problems, Know The Real Reason

Apple AirPods delayed due to technical problems and will not be available for the upcoming Holiday season. It's been three months now since Apple has unveiled their first wireless earphones which named as AirPods. The company still hasn't started shipped the Siri-enabled wireless earphones to the general public, which was supposed to have already launched by the end of October.

Apple AirPods Will Be Delayed Again Due To Technical Problems

The Wall Street Journal reported last Friday that Apple continues to delay the availability of its AirPods, which were announced in September. WSJ also cited an unnamed source, reported that the delay is being caused by major technical problems. One of these problems they are encountering is how the earpieces receive wireless signals via Bluetooth.

Apple blogger John Gruber wrote in response to the Journal’s report that his prototype AirPods seems to be working fine and that he doubts the Journal’s report that faulty wireless technology is causing the delay. Instead, Gruber speculated that a manufacturing error is to blame. "These AirPods are my favorite new Apple product in years — exactly as they are. It makes more sense to me that Apple has run into a manufacturing problem, not that they discovered a design defect after they were announced."

The Real Reason Of The Delay And When Date It Will Be Available

Traditionally, most wireless earphones receive only one signal from the paired phone via Bluetooth which earpiece receives and then transmit the signal to the other, as per HNGN. However, AirPods doesn't work this way. Apple said that each AirPods earpiece receives independent signals from the iDevices it's paired with. Before Apple can let AirPods loose, it must first ensure that both earpieces receive signals simultaneously, and it seems that the AirPods' seamless Bluetooth connectivity still hasn't been perfected yet.

Another potential problem which is adding in the delay of the AirPods is related to the seamless integration with Siri, which can only be executed if the AirPods successfully picks up a user voice in spite of surrounding audio disruptions or noise. While staying in the Indoor, Bluetooth works well because the signal can be contained. But in the outdoors, it is a different conversation entirely. In sparse areas, Bluetooth signals have difficulty bouncing off objects, according to Nick Hunn, a Bluetooth expert.
Apple originally planned to release the AirPods at the end of October but has postponed the release. Inventec Corporation, a Taiwan-based Original Design Manufacturer making notebook computers, servers, and mobile devices is expected to begin shipping AirPods in January 2017.
