When Hideo Kojima and team made Death Stranding, one of the goals they wanted to achieve was to create photorealistic images for the PlayStation 4 Pro. However, when he announced that he will use Guerilla Games' Decima Engine, many were skeptical of his decision.
When Kojima announced that they will be using Decima Engine, many people raised their eyebrows. The designer himself had some misgivings regarding the use of the engine. One major source of worry was what if they end up creating a game similar to the Horizon. Fortunately, he and his team were able to sort it out and all's well that ends well.
One of the obstacles they have to hurdle, according to Kojima, was figuring out how the engine works so that they can create a project according to their goals and specifications. They also explored the idea whether they can create a game that they wanted or not.
In a recent interview, Kojima also revealed that they are trying to create photo-realistic quality to the game on the PS4 consoles. With that in mind, he revealed that the Death Stranding trailer they released during the PlayStation Expo was running in real-time 4K resolution on the PlayStation 4 Pro. The game will be much even better, he said, when they release the finished product.
Kojima also gave some hints about the storyline of the game saying that there will be a lead female character. Although the core structure of the story is finished, he cannot reveal anything yet as they still need to work on the details.
Kojima also said that they will be in full swing starting 2017. For now, Kojima Productions has released a second trailer for Death Stranding which you can see below. What do you think about it? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
