With Pokemon Go Gen 2 update heavily rumored to arrive very soon, several changes and new additions are expected to arrive. One of which is the new Eevolution trick. As reported, Eevee will receive two additional evolutions in generation two namely Espeon and Umbreon. Currently, generation 1 has Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon. With the addition of the two, Pokemon Go players are wondering how the new Eevolution will work in order for them to acquire their desired evolution for Eevee.
According to the report from Otakukart, witnessing the game has applied a day and night time clock system, it is expected that this would affect Eevee's evolution in the future. For some players, it would make sense to evolve Eevee into Espeon during the day and Umbreon at night. However, this would still depend on luck. As previously discovered, there was a way that players to guarantee an evolution at least once.
This method is called the Nickname trick. Players would name Pyro, Sparky and Rainer in order to acquire Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon, respectively. However, it will not work after multiple tries. As a result, Pokemon Go players tend to pick their Eevee with the best IV levels in order to evolve.
Players predicted that the upcoming Generation 2 update would apply the similar method for Eevolution. For instance, Espeon should have a day type nickname since the day and psychic type evolution of Eevee is most likely to evolve during daytime. On the other hand, Umbreon should receive a night type nickname. Some potential nicknames are Sunny for Espeon and Midnight, Dusky and Shadow for Umbreon.
On other news, some players reported a bug causing a massive increase of size on their respective buddy Pokemon, though it would not affect the gameplay that much. In addition, several players were charmed with the cuteness of these adorable creatures.
