The American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) holds a special gala each year, the Cinema Against AIDS fundraiser. The exclusive black tie event traditionally takes place during the Cannes Film Festival in France.
The success of Cinema Against AIDS over the past 20 years has raised over $80 million for AIDS research. The event attracts some of the most celebrated individuals from the worlds of business, fashion, music and international society. The world-renowned black-tie event is known for its star studded VIP guestlist and its live auctions.
This year, one lucky eBay auction winner will get to travel in style with a guest to Cannes, France. Once there, they will join the legendary Janet Jackson as her private guest at the exclusive amfAR event. The amfAR private VIP event takes place on May 23, the winning bidder and their guest will head to France on May 21 and attend the benefit gala.
The winning package includes two Delta Airlines tickets (business class), transportation to and from the airport, a photograph with Janet Jackson at the event and four nights at the AC Hotel Ambassadeur Antibes-Juan les Pins.
Janet Jackson has worked with amfAR over the years as an Ambassador to help raise AIDS awareness. In 2009, she served as Chair to amfAR's Inaugural Milan Fashion Week Event. "We are profoundly grateful to Janet Jackson for joining amfAR as a chair of its first event in Milan. She brings incomparable grace and a history of dedication to the fight against AIDS," said Kevin Robert Frost, amfAR's chief executive officer.
Jackson was honored in February of this year at a black-tie amfAR's gala in New York for her contributions to the fight against AIDS.
