Sony's Xperia TL, famous for its appearance in the James Bond flick Skyfall, is now getting the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update.
The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update brings several enhancements to the Xperia TL, including changes to the notification display which groups updates from the same application together and allows users to expand or collapse notifications.
The update also allows one to view the full text of an SMS message and the full photo of a MMS in the notification window.
"Additionally, event notifications display more of the event description to let you quickly see relevant details without having to open the app, and you can even snooze or dismiss an individual event from within the notification," notes AT&T's press release.
The update also brings a data usage calculator feature to the smartphone, which will let users manage their data consumption on the handset. The update also allows one to set a limit on their data usage each month.
The software update also adds a new enhanced camera interface with Superior Auto mode, which automatically selects the best settings to use when taking a photo. Moreover, the new HDR capability takes three pictures in different light conditions and combines them into one photo for the best result.
Users will also be able to better manage the battery life of their handsets thanks to the improved power-management feature, which the Android 4.1.2 update brings users' way.
Xperia TL customers will now have access to AT&T DriveMode, an app that helps curb texting and driving. Users can set up the app to automatically send a customizable reply to incoming messages once a vehicle starts moving at 25 mph or more.
If you want to update your Xperia TL to Android 4.1.2, then make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi, and then select 'Applications', 'Settings', 'About phone' and 'Software update', and then follow the on-screen instructions.
