Two years ago, Ubisoft released For Honor, which elicited excitement among the gaming community since it offered a new angle on close-quarter combat. The gaming community has since then felt a lot of emotional twists since Ubisoft revealed further details related to the game.
However, it was disappointing when Ubisoft decided to make it necessary for their players to be connected to the internet even if it is a single-player game. This news, however, was deadened when a new title was revealed. Ubisoft announced that all For Honor DLC modes and its maps will be offered for free, according to Game Rant.
Damien Kieken, For Honor game director, explained about the company's perspective on the DLC for this title and he also explained about Ubisoft's plans in making all of its DLC of the game for free. He said that they do not want to split the community, since the matchmade new modes and new maps will be offered for free. There will also be other free content, and that they are now a big team which will support the game after its launch.
Fans are delighted by this news especially since the latest trends in the gaming community reached to DLCs and game expansions. However, Kieken did not say that all other future heroes for the game will also come for free. Last year, Rainbow Six: Siege also released new maps for free, but players would still have to purchase its Season Pass or individual DLC in order to have an access to the game's new characters.
For Honor is also reported to have microtransactions. Kieken said that the company has plans of allowing players to purchase Steel. Steel is an in-game currency for For Honor. He went on further to say that the opportunity for players to purchase Steel is just a shortcut, and everything can be unlocked by just simply playing the game. For Honor will be released on Feb. 14, 2017.
