'Code Black' Season 2, Episode 12 'One In A Million' Spoilers: Leanne Defies Campbell To Help Reunite A Family One Last Time

Leanne (Marcia Gay Harden) will make drastic measures to reunite the family of a dying patient even if it means disobeying Campbell (Boris Kodjoe) in "Code Black" season 2, episode 12. Meanwhile, Willis (Rob Lowe) and Noa (Emily Tyra) will use smartphone apps to communicate with a patient with autism in Angels Memorial.

This looks like a serious trouble. Leanne was originally chosen as the Director of Emergency Medicine replacing Dr. Perello. However, the hospital decided to just let Campbell become the head of both the ER and OR to save costs, leading to a strife between the two. Even though Campbell technically is the superior, Leanne is still a force to be reckoned with in the hospital.

The official synopsis of "Code Black" season 2, episode 12 titled "One in a Million" reveals Leanne will defy Campbell's order and use the hospital helicopter to reunite a family one last time. As it is, Angels Memorial lacks resources and funds so Campbell might not let this go. Still, seeing Campbell in a good light in the latest episode is an indication that maybe he is transforming to be a more empathetic doctor.

Fans got to see another side of Dr. Campbell in "Code Black" season 2, episode 10 "Ave Maria" which aired on Dec. 7. In that episode his daughter was rushed to the Emergency Room. The grumpy ER and OR head acted more like a father than a doctor seeing his daughter suffering. He was also teary-eyed before the operation. Episode 10 grabbed the hearts of the viewers with an increase in ratings. It was recorded as the highest rated episode in season 2 with a total of 6.75 million viewers in the U.S. from 5.92 million viewers in episode 9.

Meanwhile, previous spoilers revealed that Angels Memorial will deal with a code black during a city-wide blackout in "Code Black" season 2, episode 11 titled "Exodus" which will air on Wednesday, Dec. 21. "Code Black" season 2, episode 12 will air on Jan. 4, at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
