Borderlands 3 Release Date & Update: Game Not Coming Soon; To Launch After 'Bulletstorm' Remaster?

Borderlands 3 has been announced to be in development for quite some time now, but the developers are still not disclosing any detail about the new installment yet. Many expected a sort of a sneak peek during The Game Awards 2016 on Dec. 1, but fans instead got a trailer for the Bulletstorm: Full Clip remaster.

Gearbox Not Focusing On Borderlands 3?

Because of this, there have been speculations that Borderlands 3 will not be released until after the remastered first-person shooter video game by People Can Fly. Reports suggest that developer Gearbox's focus right now is on Bulletstorm, which could mean that the Borderlands installment takes a back seat.

The Bulletstorm: Full Clip Remaster is landing on April 7, 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. After which, it is assumed that development of Borderlands 3 will go on full swing. If so, players may see its release late 2017 or early 2018. But nothing can be confirmed yet as of now.

Borderlands 2 SHiFT Codes Tide Over The Wait

Meanwhile, Borderlands 2 players must make use of the released SHiFT codes for five Golden Keys to get some cool loot. These will only be available until Dec. 19 only so it is better to take advantage of them now.

For PC and Mac, the code is WB5BB-WXKHB-TFBXW-BJJJ3-K35KX. For Xbox 360 and Xbox One, WTWJ3-RTWRC-R9RXH-5X3BT-3SWC9. For PS3, PS4 and PS Vita, 5T533-JF96Z-XBCSC-H3WBT-ZHBCZ.

To redeem the codes, players must go to the Borderlands 2 Main Menu. From there, they should choose Main Menu then SHiFT Code. Those who are having trouble are advised to go here for help.

As for Borderlands 3, players must patiently wait for an official announcement from Gearbox Software. Fans have waited four years for a sequel, so another year more should not hurt.
