Vine Camera App Is The Replacement For The Vine App
Twitter today has provided an update regarding the shutdown of Vine that was announced October of this year. The Vine app is gone, but Vine Camera app is coming next month.
"In October we let you know that we’re shutting down Vine. Since then, we’ve been working closely with creators to find out what’s important to you, to answer your questions, and to make sure we do this the right way." This is a quoted statement from the announcement made on Vine's blog. "Here’s what’s coming: in January, we’re transitioning the Vine app to a pared-down Vine Camera," they added.
According to MacRumors, Vine Camera will allow users to continue making six-second looping videos. The Vine app will also be updated with a new feature that makes it easier for Vine users to link accounts to transition from Vine to Twitter, with a tool for allowing Vine followers to follow Vine users on Twitter instead.
"Follow On Twitter" Feature
Vine is also taking steps to help its creators transfer their followers over to Twitter, as reported by The Verge. users will receive pop-ups asking if they’d like to keep following popular video creators on Twitter. Vine’s website will switch over to archive mode in January, but Twitter hasn’t said how long it plans to keep videos available there.
In the coming days we’re also rolling out a way to make it easy for your Vine followers to follow you on Twitter — stay tuned for a “Follow on Twitter” notification soon. And last but not least, you can now download your Vines through the app or the website. All of your Vines will continue to live on the vine.co website so you can browse all of the amazing videos you created over the years.
