The voice-activated smart speaker first arrived in October and was poised to rival Amazon's own smart speaker, the Echo, and other smart speakers and digital assistants.

When going up against the Amazon Echo and Alexa, Google Home falls a bit short. But that is mainly because Alexa already has thousands of skills or capabilities. Google recently announced that third-party developers may create 'conversation actions' through the 'Actions on Google" platform. PC World believes this move y the company means "Google Home will quickly become the intelligent home aid we want it to be".

Google Assistant product lead, Jason Douglas relayed that, "Conversation Actions from early access partners will begin rolling out over the coming weeks - starting today."

Douglas added that the company is "excited to see what developers build".
