"Supergirl" season 2 is coming soon and fans are already getting excited about what the upcoming episodes have in store. In the eighth episode of the show, Cyborg Superman (David Harewood) unleashed a lethal virus in an 'alien' bar that killed all those inside, except Mon-El/Mike Matthews (Chris Wood). The virus stopped spreading when Super Girl/Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) came on the scene.
Some Aliens Were Searching For Mon-El
It can be recalled that in the finale of "Supergirl" season 1, a mysterious pod had crash landed on earth with someone inside. The identity of the pod passenger was only revealed when "Supergirl" season 2 premiered. That passenger turned out to be someone from a doomed planet and another survivor of Krypton. His name is Mon-El and is a Daxamite who possesses the same Kryptonian powers. However, rather than being able to see through lead, he is weakened by it instead.
Towards the ending of "Supergirl' season 2, episode 8, there was an unidentified alien species that were looking for Mon-El. For whatever reason they are searching for him was not revealed at this time. But it seems there is a developing relationship between him and Kara. Perhaps when the show starts in 2017, fans will be able to know where this relationship is going.
A New Villain Is Coming
A report from Entertainment Tonight also indicated that there will be a new villain in "Supergirl" season 2. This new bad is Mr. Mxyzptlk, a fellow that loves to play magic and tricks that spell trouble to whom he plays them with. This will be a new challenge for the hunks and ladies in DEO.
With regards to the Kara-Mon-El rumor, Benoist also made a hint recently that Mon-El will follow her advice in "Supergirl" season 2 for him to look for a job so that he can pay his bills. Apparently, scenes that will portray this part of their relationship will be featured in the upcoming episodes.
