Director Jeff Nichols says, "However absurd this sounds, 'Midnight Special' is more grounded than 'Mud'. I really wanted to make a 1980s John Carpenter film like 'Starman'. I love the way those films look."
4. 10 Cloverfield Lane

This film is a one-location thriller. It tells us a tale of a young woman who wakes up in an underground cellar following a car accident. The woman fears that she may have been abducted. The tension builds up as she decides to escape.
J.J. Abrams produced this small $ 5M movie. It was initially entitled 'The Cellar' or 'Valencia' but was changed to '10 Cloverfield Lane' the last minute.
