The Samsung Galaxy S4 only made its formal debut yesterday but mobile accessory companies are lining up to give discerning customers a variety of cases to protect the new smartphone. Samsung itself has a number of cases for sale as well, including the S View cover.
Belkin, Otterbox and Case-Mate have announced cases for the S4, according to AndroidCommunity. The three vary in style and price and offer up dozens of cases — ranging from practical to fashionable.
Belkin's on the lower-priced end, with 11 cases costing from $24.99 to $49.99. They include Sartorial Wristlet, the Wallet Folio and the Micra Glam Matte and will be available in April.
Otterbox announced S4 cases in its Defender, Commuter and Reflex Series but hasn't announced prices or when they would be available.
Case-Mate and its brand Vaja have perhaps the most extensive selection on the market. Case-Mate is offering up nine case options that range from $50 to $150 in price and Vaja has four cases that will cost from $80 to $120. The cases will be sold online beginning April 26.
"We are very proud to introduce a collection that marries modern mobile accessories with luxurious styles," said Nicole Love, Case-Mate vie president of product development, in a statement. "From the handsome interior of a vintage Rolls Royce to the classic quilted-leather handbags of Chanel — this collection is inspired by the classic materials and iconic styling that have defined luxury for centuries. The products we've designed for the new Samsung Galaxy S4 are without a doubt the most fashionable and protective cases we have ever released."
The high-end cases from Case-Mate are the Genuine Mother of Pearl and Gemstones units, both of which will retail for $150. The Mother of Pearl has genuine pearls from Pacific South Seas and Hawaii. The Gemstones case is crafted from genuine turquoise, highlighted with warm gold striations and finished with gold brushed aluminum.
