In a span of 10 long years, it is no doubt that Square Enix could pull off Final Fantasy XV for what it is today. In the course of the game's development process, interesting details have been ditched and most of them were unknown to many. In recent news, a couple of these details were reported to have been reworked and reconsidered for future release.
Some exciting details of Final Fantasy XV were recently divulged by an insider named 4chan who claims to have worked for Square Enix for a couple of years. Although the page was already taken down, a YouTube channel named Final Fantasy Peasant was able to capture the information leaked by said informant, including ditched multiplayer mode, Luna's lore and tacked-on boss form.
Multiplayer
The clip opened with a revelation about the original plan of the developer pertinent to multiplayer mode. It was speculated that this component might make a comeback on Final Fantasy XV by the time the next DLC will be released. It suggested that this could be a scoring system during the battles in dungeons or when killing opponents with more than one player. To recall, Square Enix mentioned at the early development stage of the game that a multiplayer will continue with "new adventures with each of the game's main protagonists." However, the idea never did go through the process.
Ardyn's Final Form
For those who have finished the game already can relate to the fact the end battle with Ardyn ends so soon. Accordingly, the original plan was to make the ultimate boss fight longer but it never panned out primarily because the final form of Ardyn "got cut earlier this year." The video speculated that the same reason might also go for the summons/astrals' questionable purpose.
Luna's Lore
The most controversial component of the game perhaps that violated almost everyone's expectations is the fact that Luna might be one of the playable characters. Unfortunately, as revealed by the leak, she was ditched from the roster owing to being abused by other characters and that plot was a bit problematic considering the treatment of female characters in the game has been debatable.
