The Lenovo ThinkPad X120e is now available at Amazon for $470. The ThinkPad X120e offers solid build, an excellent keyboard and precision TrackPoints.
Lenovo's ThinkPad brand is synonymous with business notebooks. The combined hardware of the ThinkPad X120e, including the AMD "Fusion" processor, 2GB RAM and fast hard drive offer a smooth running netbook alternative.
Lenovo made improvements on the ThinkPad X120e; its predecessor was the X100e. The compact feel and keyboard on the X100e was well received, but the battery life was not so impressive. The X120e offers improved battery life, improved graphics and runs on a 1.6GHz dual-core AMD Fusion E-350 processor with Windows 7 Professional OS.
In a review of the X120e, CNET said that the speaker quality and its built-in 1280x720 pixel Webcam had better picture quality and low light sensitivity than similar notebooks. The LED backlit screen has a display of 1366x768 and video runs smooth at 640x480 pixels. The X120e is ideal for Web conferencing, beating its competitor 11.6 inch small laptops.
Graphic capabilities of the X120e are also great for business use for client presentations with HD video. Adobe Photoshop's CS5 runs just as smooth and fast on the X120e as it would on a PC, with its Raedon graphics processing unit (GPU).
The touchpad and TrackPoint offer excellent cursor control for various applications and is relative in size as seen on other notebooks. The touchpad is multi-touch capable; users can pinch-to-zoom and pivot-rotation.
